They are going to take their chances that they can buy him out next summer, I guess.

Anybody know of the top of their head the dates all the relevant dates coming up. The draft is June 30. Doesn't the free agency period start later this year? What is the date by which clubs have to decide whether to amnesty players?

Free agency starts July 5th and the buyouts have to be done by July 4th

The draft is also at 3pm on June 30th, and the whole thing is done in one day

I am assuming that they are looking really hard at their options of what they could do to deal with the Richards contract in the event that they keep him, and he can't be bought out next summer because of injury. It's a big financial decision for the organization, with all the money that is owed to Richards.

Big tough player with some offensive punch in the past. Tough year for him this year, however. Does he have anything left? Did have a nice offensive year in 2011-2012.

the problem is that the interest will make the price rise, unless you buyout Richards, with the RFAs to be re-signed, how do you fit him in if over $2 mil per?

i'd almost rather have briere over zuccarello.

we might be able to offer less since he lives close by and won't have to relocate.

I wonder if van and NYR come together on a deal of coaches favorites?

I can understand the view to a point but Briere is injury prone while MZA could really have a spike in production in Vigneault's style of play. Plus, he is a lot younger.
